Privacy notice

This notice describes what actually happens when you read this site. It is short because very little happens. Last reviewed 25 September 2026.

What the site collects from you: nothing

These pages are static. There is no enquiry form, no sign-up, no account, no login, no comment box and no on-site search, so there is no field anywhere in which you could give us your details even if you wanted to. Nothing you do while reading is recorded by us, and no profile of you is built, bought or sold.

The pages themselves set no cookies and carry no analytics, advertising or social media tags. Nothing is stored in your browser by this site, so there is no tracking setting to change and nothing to opt out of later.

What your browser contacts when a page loads

Two things happen that are worth being straight about, because they involve companies that are not us.

• Web fonts. Every page loads its typefaces from Google's font services. Your browser requests those files directly from Google, which means Google receives the request — including your IP address and browser details — as part of serving them. That happens because of how the pages are built, not because anything about you was sent deliberately, and it is subject to Google's own privacy terms rather than ours.
• Hosting. The site is served by a hosting provider, and providers keep server logs of requests: typically an IP address, a timestamp, the page requested and the browser's user-agent string. Those logs are part of running a web server rather than an attempt to learn anything about you, and we do not use them to identify readers or to build any kind of audience record.

Links to other sites

Some pages link out to a property portal, because this site has no listings of its own and says so rather than pretending otherwise. Those links are marked so that they pass no ranking credit, and there is no affiliate arrangement, no payment and no data-sharing agreement behind any of them. Once you follow a link you are on somebody else's site, under their privacy policy and their tracking, which will be considerably longer than this one. The absence of any commercial relationship behind those links is explained on the about page.

Email

If you write to the editorial address, your message and your email address sit in that mailbox, held by the email provider that serves it. They are used to reply to you and to correct the site, and for nothing else: not sold, not passed to an agent, lender or any other company, and not added to a mailing list, since no mailing list exists. Correspondence is kept while it is useful for maintaining the pages and can be deleted on request. Because email is not a secure channel, avoid sending sensitive personal or financial details — a correction almost never requires them, and the contact page sets out what is genuinely useful to send.

Your choices, and changes to this notice

Since the site collects nothing and stores nothing in your browser, there is no account to close, no preference to set and no data of yours for us to hand over or erase — beyond any email you have sent, which we will delete if you ask. If the site ever gains a form, an analytics tool or anything else that gathers information, this notice will be rewritten and re-dated before that change goes live, not afterwards. The same standard of stating what is actually true, rather than what is convenient, applies to every page here and is set out in the research and corrections policy.
